Caring for Your Trees

Avoid planting future problems! Assess the planting site and consider your goals. Research the tree’s characteristics to ensure it fits the space. We’re happy to assist with tree selection, or you can consult your local nursery.
Proper Planting
Follow the planting guidelines provided by the seller, or let a professional handle the job. We offer expert planting services to ensure your tree gets the best start.
Mulching
Apply 3 to 4 inches of mulch around the tree base, but avoid piling it against the trunk. Extend the mulch to the tree’s canopy if possible, especially for young and newly planted trees.
Watering
Trees need water—but not too much. Each species has specific water requirements, so factor in rainfall and sprinkler use. We can provide guidance or refer you to a nursery for details.
Mowing & Trimming
Avoid hitting trees with lawnmowers or weed trimmers. Mulching helps prevent this, but if not an option, use shears to trim around the trunk safely.
Seasonal Monitoring
Check your landscape each season. Look for low-hanging branches, drying plants, or any changes. Early detection makes problems easier to address.
